SUSTAINABILITY
Recycled Polyester
Polyester is the most widely used synthetic fiber in the textile sector, accounting for more than half of the total volume of fibers produced globally. Only a fraction of polyester produced in the world is recycled though. Benetton Group has decided to promote fabrics in its collections that contain at least 20% recycled polyester that comes from certified supply chains, ensuring that the polyester derives from production process wastes or materials that would end up in landfills otherwise. Using recycled polyester in our garments allows us to significantly reduce greenhouse gas emissions compared to virgin polyester.
